WHAT'S NEW AT THE PIRTLE WINERY: FEBRUARY 2011
Valentine's Day may not be the first day of Spring, but this year it's close enough: sun shining, temps rising, snow melting, attitudes going from negative to positive. And just in time. Continue Reading
November 2010
The seeming sudden approach of the Thanksgiving holiday is a pleasant surprise. The fall planting of the Aronia bushes is finished; all the grapevines are asleep until March. We have stopped mowing until Spring; most of the field work is done. Thanksgiving arrived at exactly the right time this year. We look forward to a lighthearted stress free four days of family time. Continue Reading
Autumn 2010
You know October is past when the trees have lost all their leaves. Even so, the pleasant memories from Summer 2010 will linger and keep us inspired. Continue Reading

WHAT'S NEW AT THE PIRTLE WINERY: JUNE 2010
Summer is off to a good start this year. Memorial Day weekend was beautiful and the long weekend provided us all with some relief from the fatigue of monotony. Summer activities always achieve full momentum around July 4th every year. We are starting the action early with our first annual wine and food pairing dinner at the Avalon Cafe in Weston on June 18th, three days before summer solstice. Continue Reading
WHAT'S NEW AT THE PIRTLE WINERY: MAY 2010
Weather wise thus far, this Spring has been pleasantly uneventful. We were able to finish vineyard work before the bud-break. A frost free April was especially gratifying. With a little help from Mother Nature, grape harvest and our annual picking celebration party should be right on time again. Until then, spring and summer are here right now and are ours to enjoy! Continue Reading
WHAT'S NEW AT THE PIRTLE WINERY: MARCH 2010
Everything is normal in the Pirtle Winery world: sunshine, melting snow, wine garden already in use, vineyard work lagging behind. Scott, Ben and Chaz have rejuvenated the wine garden. The jungle of English Ivy along the building has been removed; several inches of mulch and dirt have also been removed and replaced with a fresh layer of mulch. This has created a roomier, more pleasant space for your enjoyment. Continue Reading
WHAT'S NEW AT THE PIRTLE WINERY: JANUARY 2010
All quiet on the Northern front. The grapevines and Aronia berries are in a deep sleep, peacefully ignoring January. We have been busier than usual. The Cherry Chocolate wine is now available on-line, at the winery and at most of our retailers, just in time for your Valentine's Day fest! In fact, February 14th is almost upon us. From past experience, this is the unofficial (wishful thinking) beginning of Spring. Continue Reading
